In 1910 Claude E. James became the first full-time minister, serving into 1913 the name, Main Street church of Christ was adopted in membership grew to include 200, and in 1911 John H Humphreys was selected to church through sunny schools superintendent.
Springfield Christian church has his roots deep in the fabric of time and history it is recorded in the yearbook of Christian churches from 1916 to the present. Pastor Coley Williams entered an agreement with Central Christian Church Disciples of Christ with other Districts ministers to resolve some issues. This exploratory meeting and move of faith resulted in the thought of a transitional merger. The Central Christian Church would become Springfield Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
